Currently in its eighth edition, the award allows the free participation of Brazilian non-profit organizations and foundations – there are around 800 thousand companies operating in the country through this model.
By recognizing the work of the best non-governmental organizations in Brazil, the Best NGOs Award encourages good practices in the Brazilian third sector. To this end, organizations that represent the quality of their management and transparency are evaluated based on technical selection and the determination of five key themes: Purpose and Action Process, Representation and Responsibility, Management and Planning, Finance and Communication and IT.
The financial stability of NGOs, for example, is an important evaluation criterion for organizations to be selected for the list of the 100 best NGOs in Brazil. In addition to having a dedicated team for this purpose, Casa Arte Vida, for example, has a donation button on its website and a “how to help” page, where citizens can find ways to contribute to the organization.
Award categories The Best NGOs Award is divided into categories. The broadest category is the Best NGOs, which offers 100 outstanding organizations among the participants. The version of the best small NGOs awards up to 10 small groups – that is, those with an annual income of up to R$500,000.
