(Photo: Casa Arte Vida) Best NGO Award The Best NGO Award is promoted annually by the social consortium Instituto Doar and the Instituto O Mundo Que Quero to evaluate the best NGOs in Brazil. Currently in its seventh edition, the award allows free participation by non-profit organizations and foundations in Brazil – almost 800,000 operate in this model in the country.
By recognizing the best work in the Brazilian private sector, the Best NGO Award encourages good practices in the Brazilian third sector. To this end, organizations that stand out for the quality and transparency of their governance are evaluated based on a technical and objective selection process based on three main themes: Causes and Action Strategy, Representation and Accountability, Governance and Planning, Finance and Communication and Responsibility.
For example, the financial sustainability of NGOs is an important criterion for selecting organizations for the list of the top 100 NGOs in Brazil. According to data presented at the awards ceremony, 98% of the organizations that stood out had a fundraising system in place and had at least one employee dedicated exclusively to fundraising activities. Casa Arte Vida, for example, has a donation button on its website and a “how to help” page where residents can find ways to contribute to the organization.
The award categories reserved one of the awards for the best NGOs. The largest category is Best NGOs, where 100 organizations among the participants receive special awards. In the Best Small NGOs category, up to 10 small organizations are awarded, that is, those with annual revenue of up to R$500,000. In addition to being among the best NGOs in the last 5 years, Casa Arte Vida, directed by Ana Carolina Affonso, is also among the best small NGOs.
Other categories that are also awarded include Best NGO, best for each cause and best for each region/state.

CAV aims to provide comprehensive and interdisciplinary education for youth and children through daily, extracurricular and educational initiatives and initiatives in the areas of technology, finance, arts and entrepreneurship.
For socially disadvantaged young people, CAV projects combine innovation and creativity to provide a safe and welcoming environment that brings together the community and social agencies. CAV's comprehensive education program, for example, promotes community-based extracurricular learning activities that utilize active methods and consider multiple understandings.
Prominent CAV initiatives and programs include the CRIA (Creativity, Robotics, Innovation and Arts) initiative, Maker Lab and Expresso do Futuro. As Ana Carolina Affonso believes in strengthening extracurricular activities, CAV brings initiatives that aim to bridge and integrate various activities between school, family and community. One example is the organization's family promotion program, which includes a series of interventions that aim to strengthen family relationships based on an integrated service model involving technical teams from psychology, social work and pedagogy.
These projects have already won several CAV awards, including the Best NGO Award and the Itaú-UNICEF Award from the Itaú Social UNICEF program.
