Netflix, Round 6 e Cassinos: entendendo seu relacionamentoPhoto: Disclosure Netflix is no longer limited to the world of streaming. After entering the world of gaming and even opening a themed restaurant, the company took an unprecedented step by establishing an exclusive partnership with the casino and gambling industry. The result of this collaboration will be a new slot machine inspired by one of the platform's most successful series: the fascinating South Korean survival drama known as “Round 6” or “Squid Game”.

This product and brand licensing agreement is a first and marks Netflix's foray into entirely new territory. The company responsible for creating the “Round 6” machines is the renowned Light & Wonder, known for its expertise in the games industry. These machines will transport players to the intriguing world of deadly challenges, reminiscent of the original series.

Expected to hit casinos in 2024, the “Round 6” slot promises an exciting experience, with prizes ranging from US$200,000 to US$400,000 depending on the configuration. Light & Wonder's machines are true technological marvels, featuring a 75-inch vertically curved screen with 600,000 individual micro-LED pixels. In addition, they offer a 27-inch touch screen with induction charging function for cell phones and action buttons for interacting with the game, providing players with an immersive experience.

Netflix has not only entered the casinos, but also released the trailer for a reality show based on the gripping South Korean drama. This reality show aims to award the winner with a staggering sum of US$4.56 million (equivalent to US$22.47 million) from a pool of 456 contestants.

It is important to know that, just like in the “Round 6” series, participants also compete for a cash prize. The difference, however, is that the stakes are actually a little less deadly and bloody. As Netflix said: “The worst thing that can happen is going home empty-handed.”

According to the information released, the reality show will have a total of ten episodes, one more than the original series that served as inspiration. Participants face a series of physical and mental challenges, creating an exciting atmosphere full of twists and turns.

Additionally, as for the drama series itself, Netflix confirmed its renewal for a second season in June last year, allowing fans to enjoy more excitement and action in the future.

This bold collaboration between Netflix, “Round 6” and the casino industry is a vivid example of how entertainment and gambling are intertwined in new and exciting ways. As the slot's release date approaches, there's no denying that casino enthusiasts and fans of the series are eager to experience this combination of entertainment.

However, the news should not arrive here quickly, as Brazil has only approved the legalization of online casinos and is still discussing the return of gaming in physical establishments here in the Senate, but there is no forecast for its implementation.
