Netflix, Round 6 e cassinos: entenda a ligação entre elesImage: Vision Netflix was not just limited to the world of streaming. After venturing into the world of games and even opening a themed restaurant, the company took an unprecedented step by establishing exclusive partnerships with casino and gambling operators. The result of the collaboration will be a new slot machine inspired by one of the platform's most successful games: the exciting South Korean survival game known as “Round 6” or “Squid Game”.

This brand-new content and brand licensing agreement marks Netflix’s entry into entirely new territory. The company responsible for creating the “Round 6” devices is the legendary Light & Wonder, known for its expertise in the gaming industry. The machines will transport players through a fascinating world of deadly challenges, reminiscent of the original game.

Expected to hit casinos in 2024, the “Round 6” slot promises an exciting experience, with prizes ranging from US$200,000 to US$400,000, depending on the classification. Light & Wonder devices are true technology, boasting a 75-inch vertically curved screen with 600,000 individual micro-LED pixels. In addition, they have a 27-inch touchscreen with induction cell phone charging and action buttons for game integration, providing players with an immersive experience.

Netflix has not only forayed into casinos, but also released a trailer for a reality show based on the hit South Korean drama. The reality show aims to reward the winner with a whopping US$4.56 million (equivalent to US$22.47 million) from a pool of 456 contestants.

It is important to highlight that, just like in the “Round 6” game, participants also compete for a cash prize. However, the difference lies in the fact that these bets are, in fact, less deadly and bloody. As Netflix said: “The worst thing that can happen is you go home empty-handed.”

According to the statement, the reality show will have a total of 10 episodes, which is more than the original series that served as inspiration. Participants will face a series of physical and mental challenges, creating an exciting environment full of variables.

Furthermore, in the drama series itself, Netflix confirmed the renewal of the second season last June, ensuring that fans will have more doses of fun and action to enjoy in the future.

This bold collaboration between Netflix, “Round 6” and the casino industry represents a vivid example of how entertainment and gambling intersect in new and exciting ways. With the release date of slot machines approaching, it is undeniable that casino enthusiasts and fans of the series are eager to experience this combination of entertainment.

But the news shouldn't come soon, as Brazil has agreed to legalize online-only casinos, and is still discussing in the Senate the revival of physical games here, but there are no implementation forecasts.
