Os jogos contra o Flamengo dão fôlego ao El Turco; até o quê?Antonio Mohamed, also known as “The Turk”, became coach of Atlético-MG in January this year. His last club as coach was Monterrey, in Mexico, where he became Mexican champion in 2019, in his second year at the club.

Known for some good campaigns, but hardly a big name, the newly arrived Argentine coach's task in Belo Horizonte was not easy, as he needed to beat or at least equal the former Cuca's impressive visit to Galo.

The Brazilian coach won a Brazilian Championship and a Brazilian Cup with this Galacticos team, setting a true standard for the country. The pressure was already great, as in all bets the Minas Gerais team was favorite to win the Brasileirão, the Copa do Brasil and also the Libertadores.

Anyone who uses the KTO Coupon to create an account on the website and check the odds will continue to see Atlético among the favorites due to the quality of the team, the incredible form of striker Hulk and the still high expectations. But they took a beating.

Good start, then... At the beginning of his career, “El Turco” first impressed the board and, of course, the fans: he won the Campeonato Mineiro and the Brazilian Super Cup with Galo.

It seemed like everything was going well and the Minas Gerais team was expected to fight for the leadership of the Brasileirão together with Palmeiras and Flamengo. But recent results in the Brazilian Championship were not good. After a series of draws (Coritiba, Bragantino, Goiás, Palmeiras, Santos and Ceará) they had an unexpected victory in the 10th round of the competition with a 5-3 victory at Maracanã against Fluminense.

The Rio team managed to break through Galo's strong defense and emerge with a comfortable victory. The reality is that Atlético's team has been fighting hard, but has missed many opportunities to score.

Consolation for Flamengo With all the difficulties shown by Galo this season, the team from Minas Gerais in the 13th round of the Brasileirão had strong support and it seems that the team found itself again and ended up beating Flamengo 2-0, and rose to 4th place in the score with 21 points to seven from leader Palmeiras.

This season, Atlético-MG returned to playing like last year and with this victory the pressure on the Argentine coach is no longer significant.

Antonio Mohamed has been identified as the main culprit for the team's poor performance and lack of goals. The victory over one of the biggest contenders put cold water in the boiler at least for now and “The Turk” gained more time. to get your mind in order.

Then, after that victory, there was Flamengo winning again at Mineirão, this time in the round of 16 of the Copa do Brasil.

The result was a new 2-1 victory for Galo, but Flamengo's chances remain alive for the return game, on July 13th, at Maracanã.

The first goal against the Black and Whites was proof of the support that the Argentine coach receives from his teammates. “El Turco” was praised by the team, and Hulk also gave the coach the victory, praised his character and personality and gave him all the support he needed from the Argentine coach.

In the Copa Libertadores da América, Atlético Mineiro has done very well. They won the group stage as leaders with 11 points. The team had three wins, two draws and one defeat.  On June 28th they face Emelec in the round of 16 at the George Caowell Stadium, in Guayaquil, Ecuador and on July 5th we have the return game at Mineirão.

Could the game against Flamengo be a highlight of the season? That's what the board, fans and cast expect. Mohamed has to believe that, otherwise his career might not last long.
