Argentina beat Canada, but not by much
In this first match of the Copa América, Argentina only managed to score 2 goals, but despite that, the North Americans managed to play well. This shows that Argentina's mechanism is not yet fully tuned and, if they don't have problems against Canada, this could change against more prepared opponents.
Canada, however, showed that it can compete in the Copa América, in fact for bookmakers, a place among the top 10 winners of the current Copa América is mandatory. Of course, these are still 88.00 odds, but we'll see how things change depending on how the groups play out.
Argentina remains the big favorite, with odds of 2.70 to win the match, according to all bookmakers. At the top of Group A, Argentina are almost certain to win, with the odds falling from 1.20 to 1.50.
Conditions in groups
As mentioned, the winner of Group A is Argentina, but we still have to watch the game between Chile and Peru. The ninth and tenth teams in the South American tournament, Chile and Peru, perhaps represent some of the strongest teams in this tournament. The scheduled Group A match remains balanced, with chances of victory for Peru at 3.50 and 2.25 for Chile. The difference is not big, but the chances of both teams advancing beyond the round of 16 are minimal.
Group B is the most exciting, with more balanced teams, and there is a chance of one of them beating the other. In addition to Jamaica, Venezuela, Ecuador and Mexico represent the best in this Copa América tournament. All eyes, of course, are on Mexico, but we cannot forget their impressive performance in the last World Cup. The odds of winning the groups put Mexico in the lead at 2.10, followed closely by Ecuador with odds of 2.50.
Group C was the most predictable, with the teams far apart in terms of strength. Uruguay is the least equipped to host such a tournament, although the United States has a good chance of reaching at least the quarterfinals. Bolivia and Panama, on the other hand, are not fully competitive for all bookmakers. It cost Uruguay 1.70 to win the group stage, with the United States losing by 2.30.
Finally, in terms of uncertainty in Group D, strength and play on the field: Brazil should dominate any opponent.
Only Colombia could be prepared for this, and Brazil still has a lot to prove, especially with the absence of Neymar and the appointment of a new coach. However, today the Brazilian rating is unlikely to make headlines at 1.40, while Colombia is a little further away at 3.70. There is no chance of advancing against Paraguay, at 12pm, and Costa Rica, at 6pm.
