Without much purpose, neither team chose to put much pressure on the opponent at the beginning, but Grêmio had more control. The big chances came from beautiful volleys from Suárez and Marcelo, but both went wide of the goal. But unfortunately Rodrigo Ely put the ball back into the area. Jhon Arias took the penalty brilliantly and replaced Caíque to open the scoring. At the end of the first half, on the counterattack, Suárez received the open ball, deflected Fábio and put it in the back of the net. There was still time for Everton Galdino, in his specialty, to score from medium distance and shoot into the archer's corner, turning the game around. ⏱ And the second? Grêmio came back better from the dressing room and gave Pepê a shot that gave him his first taste of danger. Diniz's sudden changes were not enough and Imortal looked for the third: Guga and Ferreira faced each other immediately and the referee awarded a penalty; Suárez went to the penalty spot and once again showed his genius by hitting a beautiful dig to score the third goal. Tricolor immediately started to press and had many opportunities, with John Kennedy and Cano wasting their chances. In the end, John Kennedy, who came off the bench, managed to reduce each game well. In the final minutes, Fluminense's shot was ineffective and the score remained at 3-2. ✅ What happened? Fluminense now turns its attention to the Club World Cup, which takes place from December 12th to 22nd, in Saudi Arabia.
