Libra groups got together and started talking about selling the rights to the program.
The presidents of the clubs that make up Libra (Brazilian Football League) met at training this Thursday. At the meeting, the directors discussed the next steps towards signing the final agreement with Mubadala Capital and the start of negotiations for the sale of broadcasting rights to the bloc-forming clubs. The themes will be part of the debate agenda of the Libra Extraordinary General Assembly, which will be held in person in São Paulo on February 28th. Relevant bid! Some of them are proposals raised by Bahia and Sampaio Corrêa, the last two associations to join Libra. Issues such as revenue sharing and governance are ongoing and will be discussed at the next General Assembly. In an official note, the group said that “the objective is to also discuss the interests of teams that have not yet joined Libra, as a way of achieving a single bloc in Brazilian football”. In the end, the Libra Clubs decided, during the meeting, to form a committee that would work with Mubadala's commercial team and start selling exclusive broadcasting rights to the block. + Liga Forte Futebol has a proposal of R$4.85 billion from an American leader. It is worth highlighting that the proposed purchase of 20% of Liga Mubadala is R$4.750 billion. The price, however, is only valid if all 40 clubs from Series A and B join the block.
