Fluminense and Botafogo faced each other this Sunday (8) in the 26th round of the Brazilian Championship. The match started competitively, both teams wanted to attack. However, Tricolor could not resist Alvinegro's pressure and saw General Severiano's team be much superior and dominate the clashes. With his foot on the accelerator from start to finish, the Brasileirão leader beat the Libertadores finalist and isolated himself at the top of the standings. Júnior Santos received it from Tchê Tchê, came face to face with Fábio, left the goalkeeper in trouble and opened the scoring at Maracanã > It's Damn! He, he, always him! Tiquinho Soares! At 21 minutes, Júnior Santos took control of the game and started to defend Tricolori, working with Tiquinho. The number 9 dominated and on the way out Fábio touched the cover to score a GOAL in Maracas. Lots of quality. > UHH, JOHN KENNEDY! Fluminense's best and clearest goal was in the 47th minute of the first half, when the young man shot towards Perri's goal, but the ball exploded off the post. > ALMOST THREE! Marlon Freitas receives it from Tchê Tchê, carries the ball behind the Tricolori defense, arrives with great danger and hits the post. It was close! > FÁBIO!!!! Luis Henrique quickly got the ball, invaded the area and faced the Fluminense goalkeeper, who made a great save. Fábio's great season How was the first half? The match started well, both teams wanted to attack. But it didn't take long for Botafogo to get the game into shape and put Fluminense on the clock. Alvinegro was much better than Tricolor and did what they wanted at Maracanã. A good collective and marking attitude made the championship leader score 2-0 in the first half and lead at half-time. And the final step? The second half followed the same pattern as the first, with Botafogo much better than Fluminense. Lúcio Flávio's team gave in a little and slowed down, but managed to change the pace of the match, control the score and create new threats, having opportunities to increase the advantage on the scoreboard. Flu, on the other hand, looked confused, missing many passes and unable to put together any play. Thus, Tricolor practically followed Alvinegro and left a lot to be desired. What happens next? At the end of this 26th round, the Brazilian football calendar will take a break for Data-Fifa, and the Brazilian Championship will only resume on October 18th. After this period, Fluminense will face Corinthians, while Botafogo will face América-MG.
